Shop second-hand design at TheReSales: 'Actually, we are a chic thrift store!'

A design heaven of colours, shapes and structures fills the gigantic showroom. You can't think of anything so crazy or it's there. A life-size horse lamp on the left and a gigantic foam base on the right at the entrance welcome you as a customer. "It can be a bit overwhelming," warns Theresa Hoogland, owner of TheReSales, beaming. "Our store is like a museum, you just can't get bored."

No week is the same

"I buy the design furniture from companies, showrooms and a few individuals," Theresa explains. "After the furniture has been picked up or delivered, it is checked and cleaned or repaired. Then it will be online and in-store." She points around. "Our showroom is gigantic and no week is the same. The most unique items fly out the door, after which something new is immediately added. You can always keep discovering here."

Theresa: "We have virtually no delivery time, if you see something in the store today, you will receive it the same day or the next day. In addition, we want to make design accessible to everyone, by offering good prices. You also buy sustainably here, because all our furniture has already had a life. But, we still offer it as almost new, because everything is thoroughly cleaned or repaired."

A cheap design mecca for starters

So there's something for everyone. Especially if you don't want to be scared the hell out of sky-high design prices. Theresa: "I used to have to save up for a piece of designer furniture for a long time, but I don't have to do that here." "So young people and starters from Groningen in particular can come to us," adds Rienk, Theresa's husband. "But also the parents!" chuckles Hanna, daughter of Theresa and Rienk and multimedia employee. "Recently, a father came to explore the store for his daughter. Later, they came back together to pick out something nice for her first place of her own."

Take a tour of the gigantic showroom, which seems to have no end. One of Theresa's favorites: the bizarre footstool (yep, it's really a chair). Theresa: "With us you buy a unique and original piece of furniture with a much longer lifespan, which comes directly from the designer." Babette Aquino, responsible for marketing and sales, says: "For the designers, both the appearance and the functionality are important, so every detail has been thought through and everything is right."

Enthusiasts who like to go against trends, appreciate the story behind a piece of furniture and are looking for durable, affordable furniture will feel at home here. We enjoy our work and the conversations we have with our customers. We always make sure that someone leaves with a smile," the company summarizes. "And you develop a taste," Theresa concludes. "But to do that, you have to dare to try new things. TheReSales is the perfect place to get a taste of it."
